Hi everyone, and welcome to the PownceCast, the podcast of the social sharing site Pownce. Hosted by Pownce community members, Carolyn Sonnek and Kevin Belton, PownceCast is the weekly show highlighting the best items shared on Pownce, the social sharing site where you can send music, photos, messages, links, events and more. In this episode, Carolyn and Kevin give listeners a brief rundown of the various features and uses of Pownce. Also, they also feature a post from Pownce user Tad, establish the list of Pownce Theme Days for users that may not be familiar with them, and ask Pownce co-founders Leah Culver and Daniel Burka the story of how Pownce got started.

Get interactive! If you are not to sure what to post, look around at what other people are saying or doing and make some comments; get some interaction going between you and other Powncers! Like any social networking site, Pownce is most enjoyable when you help contribute to the community; this is a great way to make lots of friends! You’ll quickly start to pick up on what Powncers have the same interests as you, and that’ll give you a foundation to start posting. For example, I’m really into photography and have quite a few friends via Pownce that I can share photos, information and bounce questions off of. This is a great way for me to get feedback or start conversations about pictures that myself or my friends have posted. Try it!

@Kyle there isn’t really a way to read up on them, all you really need to do is post.
Congratulations on your inaugural episode! Sounds like you’re on your way to the Pownce equivalent of Digg Nation. Well done!
Kyle, There is a list of the daily Pownce themes at http://pownce.pbwiki.com/Pownce+Tips but as Eric said, just start posting them. Usually people start with the theme then their post. So on Friday you would post a link to your photo of Flickr, Zoomr or elsewhere and just put “Foto Friday: name of pic” in your text.
Someone has started trying to archive Music Video Monday (MVM) at http://pownce.pbwiki.com/MusicVideoMonday. but I think it is being done manually as it seems pretty incomplete (sometimes we’ll see that many in one day). That said, it’s a start!
