PownceCast: Vacation! Written on August 12, 2008, by Producer Tim.

Hey everyone! Producer Tim here, fruity umbrella drink in hand, to tell you that PownceCast is taking a little vacation. Carolyn will be soaking in the rays of the evil-glowing daystar, Kevin will sit silently in front of his computer with his microphone on, while I work on my tan in front of a wall of LCD monitors. But don’t worry folks! We will be back in late September to continue the delivery of all the delicious social goodness that is PownceCast. Stay safe and wear sunblock.

PownceCast 14: The Return of the Pork Written on July 27, 2008, by Producer Tim.
This week Carolyn and Kevin are once again joined by Nick D. of the Pownce Pork Project and they discuss his next Open Source Pork project and all the wonderful things that will await the next auction winner. Speaking of the PPP, we talk about Shirley T., the last winner of the Open Source Bacon Auction, and her photo spread and post on Pownce highlighting the consumption of Nick’s bacon. Looked delicious, Shirley!
Rounding out the show they talk about Powncer of the Week Zach C. for his meme of “What Was Your First Concert” and Nick really lays it all out there with his bombshell of concerts.

PownceCast 13: Mike.me Written on July 21, 2008, by Producer Tim.
This week on the PownceCast, Carolyn and Kevin are re-joined by Mike Lewis and the PownceCast takes full credit for Mike’s meteoric rise to stardom on the Suggested Featured Powncer list. They also talk about the latest Pownce Newsletter announcing the new iPhone app and AIR app…again*.
Nick Dawson is looking for logo design ideas for the next Pownce Pork Project. Also, they recognize Alan Houser as our Powncer of the week for his meme for posting a picture of your very first post on Pownce…then we give him some tips of proper use of posting about “dot M E” accounts.
Carolyn fills us in on her obsession with Wordle.net and the group encourages everyone to send their own “thank you” to the Pownce team to tell them how much we appreciate them. Rounding out the show, Kevin inquires where is the winner of the Name the Pownce Server contest?

PownceCast 12: The Nick and Mike Show Written on July 13, 2008, by Producer Tim.
Hello all you beautiful Powncers! Producer Tim here, posting this with one hand and sipping my Appletini with the other. Why am I holding this emasculating mixed drink you ask? Well, on this show, we’re joined by mixed drink lover Nick Dawson (of the Pownce Pork Project) and Powncer extraordinaire Mike Lewis. This episode the gang discusses a bit about last weeks show with Leah Culver, the current state of the inner Pownce community, the fantastic new Pownce Desktop 2.0 application (formerly known as Pownce Monkey), and finally some of the Pownce features we’d like to see to further separate the features of the Pro accounts from the freebies.

This week brings you an extra long episode of the PownceCast as we have our own “State of the Union” roundtable discussion about the current state of Pownce. Joining Carolyn and Kevin this week is 2nd time PownceCast veteran Nick D. [a.k.a. "Mr. Bacon Man"], and PownceCast first timers Erin and Libby. We discuss the current state of Pownce and they provide their own opinions about what can be fixed along with their frustrations of the current state of things on our most favorite site.

PownceCast 9: The Flickr Fury and Eyeball Mountain Written on June 15, 2008, by Producer Tim.
This time, Carolyn vents a bit at a person who left her a rather mean note about “stealing” her photo when she posted it to Pownce… even though she never claimed it was her photo, and as we all know, Pownce places the “photo by…” at the bottom of the image that credits the photographer. Go figure. Also, Daniel Burka wins for grossiest gross-out ever with his picture of eyeball mountain. Yum. And a GIANT thank you to everyone who donated to the Breast Cancer Ride 2008! Thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support, Carolyn was able to SMASH her donation goal to pieces. Again, thank you to everyone that donated to this extremely important cause.

PownceCast 8: Technical Difficulties Written on June 8, 2008, by Producer Tim.
The internets ate our show! This week our internet connection holds out, so we’re able to bring you the full power of the PownceCast. On this episode, Carolyn and Kevin discuss the recent downtime troubles on Pownce, the new Pownce Newsletter featuring all kinds of great community info (but no mention of PownceCast *sniff*), and the Pownce Photo Contest as suggested by our Powncer of the Week, Oliver Cross. Oh, and are you bummed that you can’t make it to the Pownce One Year Anniversary party in San Fransisco? Well, if you’re in the Minneapolis area or in Kevin’s neck of the woods in North Carolina, we’re going to be holding satellite parties (because we can’t make it to SF either).
Hit the jump to check out the links to everything mentioned in the show.

PownceCast 7: Spacebass and Pork Written on May 26, 2008, by Producer Tim.
Powncers unite! This episode, Carolyn and Kevin are joined by the creator of the Pownce Pork Project, Nick Dawson a.k.a Spacebass. They talk about the fantastic success that was the first Pownce Pork Project, and the outpouring of donations to various charities that people made to participate in the auctioning off the final delicious product. Also, the three answer the question “How do you use Pownce?”, and shockingly enough, it’s not to make waffles. The featured powncer this week is… me, oddly enough. I had no idea until RIGHT before the show, but they picked me for my posts and Flickr documentation of The Commander Tim Retro Game Love Fest. So thanks to Carolyn and Kevin for that one!
Oh, and BIG shout outs to Heather B. and our best wishes for a speedy recovery!

PownceCast 6: Tasty Pownce Hotdish Written on May 18, 2008, by Producer Tim.
Hey you Pownce peoples! In this week’s episode of the PownceCast, Carolyn and Kevin talk about Pownce user Mike Lewis and his idea to have people do Google image searches for their name/blog name and some of the best ones they’ve seen. The “Tip of the Week” is directed to you, the listeners, as we want you to answer the question “I’m on Pownce, now what do I do?” We’d like to get your answer to what you use Pownce for our show next week. They also discuss the legality of the new file sharing limits and public vs. private file sharing. Our “Ask a Developer” question this week is from our listener Amber A. and we get the response from Daniel Burka.
The “Best of” Mike Lewis’ Google Image Search:
- Our own Kevin Belton and the girl in the “wife-beater”
- “Mr. Bacon Man” and his Dance Fever
